Ashland City boxer Caleb Plant defended his IBF super middleweight title in just three rounds on July 20 during the main event on FOX PCB Fight Night. “Sweethands” Plant dominated the bout against Mike Lee, dropping his previously undefeated opponent three times.
With about 40 seconds remaining in the opening round of the fight held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Plant first knocked Lee down with a short left hook.
Lee was able to somewhat regain his composure during the second round, while Plant patiently planed his third-round attack.
Two jabs followed by a wide right hook from Plant was all it took to put Lee down a second time. By 1:29 in the third round, it was all over for Lee after succumbing to Plant’s final left hook.
“I’ve been telling you all week that it would not go 12 rounds. I stuck to my word,” Plant (19-0, 11KOs) said in the ring afterward.
