War Eagles Suffer Homecoming Loss, Pinson Named Queen

-Daryell Smith

On Sept. 25 the Sycamore War Eagles welcomed the Creekwood Red Hawks to celebrate homecoming. But it was the Red Hawks who flew the highest, totally dominating the home team.

At halftime, the visitors held a commanding lead of 45-13, later finalizing a 52-19 victory.

Scoring for the War Eagles were Nathaniel Havens with an 97-yard kickoff return, Noah Webb with a pass reception from Grady McPherson, and McPherson with a quarterback keeper.

At half time, Treva Pinson was crowned homecoming queen; she was escorted by her father, Todd Pinson.

The War Eagles' next contest will be on October 2 when they travel south to play the Harpeth Indians.

On the same night, the Cheatham County Cubs were on the road to battle the Eagles of E. Hickman County. The Cubs suffered another defeat 55-21.

The Cubs will be hosting Stewart County for their own homecoming on Oct. 2.
