The 12th annual Booby Bolt 5K and Kids Fun Run, sponsored by Pink Out For Hope, will take place Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, at a new location: Pleasant View Community Park, 2501 Pleasant View Road.

The event, which serves as Pink Out For Hope’s largest fundraiser, draws hundreds of supporters each year. Former Cheatham County educator and two-time breast cancer survivor, Marsha Dyce, has been named the 2025 Booby Bolt honoree. She and her husband, Mickey Dyce, will ring the bells to start the 5K.

Organizers say the move to Pleasant View Community Park was made to improve safety, shifting participants away from the traffic and congestion at the intersection of Hwy. 41-A and Hwy. 49. The new course will guide runners and walkers through the park sidewalks and pavement, as well as along Lcpl Gabe Raney Blvd. and Meadowview Circle.

While the setting will look different, organizers emphasize the event will continue to celebrate breast cancer survivors and honor those who have passed away from the disease. The popular “wear everything pink” theme will remain, with participants known for their creative and over-the-top use of the color.

Participants may run or walk individually or form teams. Pre-registered teams of eight or more will receive a $5 discount per participant. Online registration for individuals is $40, with race-day entry set at $50. Those who register by Sept. 15 will be guaranteed a Booby Bolt t-shirt and swag bag. Registration is available at Runsignup.com.

The Kids Fun Run is open to ages 12 and under with a $20 entry fee. No race-day registration will be accepted, as organizers want to ensure each child receives a t-shirt and medal.

The 2025 Booby Bolt will include a time clock for participants but will not feature professional timing or numbered bibs. Carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking and the expected turnout of breast cancer survivors and their families.

Businesses are invited to donate logoed items for participant swag bags as a way to advertise during the event.
