“Threads of History” Event Scheduled for April 18 at Cheatham County Museum

The Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association will host the “Threads of History” event on April 18, 2026, at the Cheatham County Museum.
The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will feature a series of presentations and activities focused on local history and genealogy.
Visitors will have the opportunity to view displays, explore the Demosbreun table, and search the Demosbreun database for family connections.
The program schedule includes:
9:50 a.m. – Introduction by Claudia Kovar, President of TDHS
10:00 a.m. – Speaker Steven Taylor, Marrowbone Community Historian
10:50 a.m. – Demosbreun donations to the Cheatham County Museum
11:00 a.m. – Presentation on growing up on Marrowbone Creek in the 1940s and 1950s, including topics such as the old schoolhouse, childhood experiences, and family history
11:40 a.m. – Violin performance by Michael Lawton featuring songs from the 1800s
12:00 p.m. – Invitation to attend a ceremony at the Carney/Demonbreun Cemetery
The event is hosted by the Cheatham County Historical and Genealogical Association and will take place at the Cheatham County Museum.
