Surrounded by family, friends, and former coaches and teammates, Sycamore High School senior Kyra Shearon signed with Vol Sate Community College to continue her basketball career.

Throughout her four years as a Sycamore Lady War Eagle, Shearon was an all-district player (10th, 11th, and 12th), all-tournament player (12th), and was named to the all-defensive team (10th). Most impressively, she made 198 three-pointers in her high school career.

"I have the utmost respect for the person and player that Kyra is," says Sycamore Head Basketball Coach Cody King. "She is one of those unique individuals that was a dream to coach; she never complains, she never backs down, she is tough as nails, she never gives anything less than 100%, and she comes from a great family."

While at Vol State, Shearon plans to study veterinary technology with plans to one day become a vet tech.

"I am so proud of her and excited that she is continuing her basketball career," adds King. "Any coach is lucky to have her; Vol State is getting a special player and an even better person."
