On Friday afternoon, surrounded by family, friends, and mentors, Sycamore High School senior Luke London signed to wrestle at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
A well-decorated athlete, London has earned a host of awards and titles since he first hit the wrestling mat in sixth grade. Over the past seven years, London has wrestled for Sycamore Middle, Sycamore High, the Cheatham County Wrestling Club, and the Knuckleheads Wrestling Club.
During his time as a War Eagle wrestler, London qualified for the state tournament four times-- finishing as a runner-up his sophomore, junior, and senior years. Also over the course of his accomplished wrestling career, London was a three-time Middle Tennessee Adidas national champion, he was named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association’s All-State team three times, he received the Middle Tennessee Wrestling Coaches Association All-Midstate award, and he placed third in the Spatola Nationals.
While wrestling at Mount St. Joseph University, London will be studying criminal justice. His longterm plan is to join the United States Air Force and become a pararescueman.
"It means the world to me to be able to wrestle in college," London says. "It has been my goal since sixth grade."
