On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, the Sycamore Lady Knights opened up their volleyball season with a match against Harpeth
Middle School.
Sycamore's junior varsity team secured the win, but the varsity team was unable to keep the same momentum, losing two of three sets to the Indians. And in their first on-court appearance, the sixth-grade team also celebrated a hard-earned victory.
"We are off to a good start this season," says Head Coach Samantha Fry. "Our girls have worked very hard this summer, gaining a lot of fundamental skills and knowledge."
On Thursday, August 11, the ladies traveled to Dickson County to face Dickson Middle School. Both the junior varsity (14; 11) and the varsity (20; 8) teams came up short against the Dragons. To close out the trip across the county line, the sixth-grade girls were able celebrate another victory (25-22) after pulling ahead in a close singe-set matchup.
"They played last night with refs that were training which allowed them to do the tunnel and the pre-game routines; they were so excited," Coach Fry said of her sixth-grade team.

A relatively "young" team, the girls from Pleasant View show great promise for the 2022 season.
"The only thing we are lacking, with being such a young team, is experience. But we will be getting plenty of that this year, and I can't wait to see the growth that it brings to these girls," Coach Fry adds. "With their hard work, attitudes, and desire to improve daily, we are going to have a great season. I am very excited to see were it goes."
Next week, on August 15, Davidson Academy will come to Pleasant View to take on the Lady Knights at 5PM.
