Signs honoring the 2019 Cheatham County Central High School Lady Cubs basketball team were revealed on the morning of August 21, 2021. The team won the Class AA state championship that year over Martin Westview, and two signs on Highway 12 North (Lockertsville Road and Bobbitt Road) now publicly honor their accomplishment.
"Cheatham County Mayor Kerry McCarver worked with State Rep. Mary Littleton and the Tennessee General Assembly to get the signs approved and erected," says the Cheatham County School District.
Coaches Jim Gibbs and Rachel Stuart along with Jorden Bumpus, who was a senior on the team, were among those in attendance at the reveal.
