Due to severe staffing challenges related to COVID-19 and other illnesses, the Cheatham County School District will be closed Thursday, Jan. 20 and Friday, Jan 21.
"We are unable to safely staff our schools due to a less than 30 percent substitute fill rate," Director of Schools Dr. Cathy Beck said Thursday afternoon.
As of now, the district's daycares will operate on the snow schedule from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
If there is winter weather overnight, a decision will be made by 5 a.m. on Thursday to determine if our daycare program will have any changes to its schedule and if extra-curricular activities or athletic events will be canceled.
The Central Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday as long as the weather permits.
"We hope this time will allow our staff and students to rest and return healthy to learn on Monday, Jan. 24," Beck adds.
