On the evening of February 10, 2022, the Cheatham County School Board voted to name the Professional Development Room at the district’s new Transportation Facility after longtime Cheatham County principal and bus driver Bill Sapp.
According to the district, Sapp served the district for 41 years. He died in October 2021 at age 86.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the facility was held on Friday, February 11.

The transportation facility is on Sweethome Road behind Sycamore High School. It will replace the district's facility on Thompson Road in Ashland City.
In addition to the professional development room, the county's newest addition features three bays, a bus wash bay, and offices. It is 16,000 square feet.
