A locally owned business that helped fill a major transportation need in Pleasant View is entering a new chapter.
PV Delivery, which launched in early 2021 as a food delivery service supporting local restaurants and businesses, has officially transitioned ownership of its transport division to local resident Doug Simmons. The sale was recently finalized, with Simmons
assuming operations immediately.
Previous owner Kristine Cole said the decision came after years of growth, adaptation, and strong community support. “We started PV Delivery to serve our community, fulfill a need that didn’t exist here at the time, and keep tax dollars local,” Cole said. “It’s been an incredible experience, but this felt like the right time for us.”
While the food delivery portion of the business closed several months ago due to increased competition from national platforms such as DoorDash and Uber Eats, the transport service continued to grow and thrive. As Pleasant View expanded, so did demand for reliable local transportation, particularly for airport runs, medical appointments, and scheduled transport needs.
After more than three years of operation, Cole and her husband decided to step back from the business to focus on family.
“I’m 60 now, my husband is 67, and we’ve recently welcomed a new grandbaby,” Cole shared. “It’s time for us to retire and enjoy being Mimi and Papa.”
The Coles said they were intentional about finding the right person to take over the transport side of the business, someone local who values service and community.
That person, they said, was Simmons.
Simmons and his family moved to Pleasant View in 2021. He is a retired U.S. Air Force veteran who served nearly 25 years as an aircraft mechanic and maintenance manager, including almost eight years as a member of the Air Force One maintenance team during the Bush and Obama administrations. Following his retirement, Simmons continued serving as a maintenance and logistics consultant for a government contractor.
“Simply put, I know what it means to serve, and I know what safe and reliable transportation looks like,” Simmons said. “I’ll treat others’ transport needs the same way I’d want my own family treated... safely and on time.”
Simmons said his vision for PV Transport is straightforward. “I intend to continue the high standard of service Kristine and Ron provided and look for opportunities to improve efficiency where it makes sense,” he said. “No matter where folks need to go, they can expect to get there safely and on time.”

One operational change under new ownership is that Simmons will be the sole driver. As a result, previously booked transports and new reservations will be reviewed carefully to ensure safe scheduling and adequate rest periods. “For example, a late-night transport could prevent me from booking an early-morning trip the next day,” Simmons explained. “That’s how I ensure this service remains safe and reliable.”
Airport transport pricing will remain consistent with previous PV Delivery rates, with one adjustment. For pickup or drop-off locations within five miles of the SR-49 and US-41A intersection (using Hampton Inn as a reference point), the fare will be $60. Locations outside the five-mile radius will be $65. An additional $10 fee will apply for airport transports with more than three passengers, up to a maximum of five passengers. Veterans, senior citizens, and first responders will receive a $5 discount when mentioned at booking.
Local shuttle service (no luggage) can accommodate up to six passengers. Pricing for non-emergency medical appointments and other destinations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Reservations can be requested by texting (preferred) or calling 615-734-7266 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. A 50% deposit is required to secure a reservation. Cancellations made seven days prior to the scheduled transport will receive a full refund of the deposit; cancellations between seven days and 72 hours will receive a 50% refund. Deposits are non-refundable if cancelled within 72 hours, except in cases of Acts of God or unforeseen medical situations.
Simmons is fully insured with all required commercial and general liability coverages to transport passengers and operate on airport property; the vehicle used is dedicated exclusively to business operations, only leaving the garage for customer transports or professional detailing.
“I can’t say thank you enough to everyone who has already booked and trusted me during this transition,” Simmons said. “January is filling up quickly, and I already have reservations into February, March, and beyond. I’m grateful for the support of local small businesses and the Pleasant View community.”

Need another reliable driver as the schedule will ki business with rest time involved.
