Pleasant View Welcomes New Family Dental Office


A new dental office began seeing patients in Pleasant View on January, 12.

Highland Family Dental, practice of Dr. Rachel Carlson, is located at 2516 Highway 49 E.

Dr. Carlson and her team are qualified to help with routine maintenance, toothaches, implants, dentures, crowns, bridges, periodontal gum treatment, extraction, custom mouthguards, snore guard appliances, root canals, whitening, Veneers, bonding, dental emergencies, and even facial rejuvenation.


Able to care for the entire family, patients of all ages are welcome at Highland Family Dental.


Highland Family Dental will offer morning and evening appointments, before and after work and school, making visits convenient. Office hours are: Mondays 8AM-5PM, Tuesdays 10AM-7PM, Wednesdays 9AM-6PM, Thursdays 7AM-4PM, and Fridays 8AM-1PM.

Highland Family Dental will be working with top insurance plans, but if a patient doesn’t have insurance, the team at Highland is able to offer an $89 new-patient special. They also offer 0% financing through Care Credit on dental treatments, striving to make oral care needs affordable and accessible.

Dr. Carlson, described by patients as “welcoming, gentle, and knowledgeable,” attended Indiana University on a full athletic scholarship for softball.

She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at Southern Illinois University- School of Dental Medicine. She is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Tennessee Dental Association (TDA), and the Nashville Dental Society.


Every year, Dr. Carlson continues to attend post-doctoral studies in clinical dentistry that keep her up-to-date on the field’s latest technology and advancements.


In her spare time, she enjoys sports, riding horses, and spending time with her husband Justin and their dog, Neyland.

Surrounding herself by highly qualified and personable staff members with a passion for dentistry, Dr. Carlson currently has three team members who she is positive patients will adore as much as she does.

The office manager, Raymond Mendez, holds extensive knowledge in medical management, patient care, and accounting/business management.


“My personal goal is to ensure that each of you have a clear understanding of any procedure prior to it happening, your concerns are addressed, and your mind put at ease so you have a comfortable, informed, stress-free experience,” he says.


Keaton Morrissey, Highland’s lead dental assistant, is an expanded functions assistant who has been in the field for nearly a decade. She has broad training in general dentistry, pediatrics, oral surgery, and even orthodontics.


Having a true passion for dentistry, dental assistant Danielle Rowan specializes in making people feel more confident about their smile.
