The Pleasant View community will come together on Saturday, November 7, 2026, for the 3rd Annual Tristin Franklin Memorial Timed 5K and 1-Mile Run, an event dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of Tristin Franklin while supporting future generations of student-athletes in Cheatham County.
The annual event was established in memory of Franklin, a Sycamore High School student-athlete who passed away in 2024. What began as a way to honor his memory has become an opportunity for the community to make a lasting difference through athletics, education, and community support.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Tristin Franklin Foundation, which is dedicated to providing scholarships for student-athletes and raising funds toward the construction of a track in Cheatham County. The proposed facility would provide opportunities for local track and field and cross-country athletes while creating a valuable recreational resource for the community.
Participants can choose between two timed events, with the 1-mile run beginning at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K starting at 8:30 a.m. Both races will take place at 2501 Pleasant View Road in Pleasant View.
Registration is $20 for the 1-mile event and $30 for the 5K. Runners of varying experience levels are encouraged to participate, making the event an opportunity for both competitive athletes and community members who simply want to support a meaningful cause.
Beyond the finish line, the memorial run serves as a reminder of the lasting impact one young life can have on a community. Through scholarships and the foundation's efforts to improve athletic facilities, Tristin Franklin's memory continues to inspire opportunities for other young athletes.
Community members are encouraged to register, participate, and help support the foundation's mission.
