Phase 4 of Fiber Network Construction to Include North Cheatham County

Cumberland Connect is excited to announce this next step in its Fiber-to-the-Home project, which has continued at a rapid pace since its launch in May 2020, to expand access to Gig-speed Internet services to CEMC members. This fourth phase of construction will pass an additional 20,000+ locations in Montgomery, Robertson, Sumner, and Cheatham counties, providing much-needed access to reliable, fiber-delivered Internet services to those CEMC members’ homes and businesses in these areas.

Cumberland Connect’s suite of services, dubbed CCFiber, includes Gig-speed fiber Internet, phone, and streaming video. Their participation in the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program and recent launch of a new referral program demonstrates their ongoing commitment to make broadband services both accessible and affordable. These efforts are fueled by the belief that Internet access should no longer be considered a luxury in today’s world, but rather, a utility that is accessible and affordable for all. The organization’s strong focus on subscriber education and delivering an exceptional customer experience further demonstrates this commitment to their members.

Cumberland Connect launched a 100% fiber-optic network bringing state-of-the-art, gigabit-speed Internet services to rural Tennessee. Since May 2020, CCFiber has been made available for over 49,000 locations in the middle Tennessee area. Check service availability at https://cumberlandconnect.org/status-map/. During this 4th phase of construction, Cumberland Connect will construct an additional 960+ miles of fiber. The new areas will include communities in eastern Montgomery County, northern Cheatham County, central and eastern Robertson County, and a portion of Sumner County. Construction will begin in the 4th quarter of 2022 and continue through the end of 2023.

Cumberland Connect is unique in that they bring the 100% fiber connection all the way to members’ homes and businesses. They currently offer Internet speeds up to 1,000 Mbps to members in addition to home/business phones, and a streaming video service — all powered and delivered by fiber. The team at Cumberland Connect expressed their commitment to provide service offerings that will scale with today’s advancing technology and shared that they will be providing even faster – Multi-Gig – Internet package offerings to members in Phases 4 and 5, with plans to further expand multi-gig service availability in the future. Cumberland Connect is genuinely setting itself apart from the rest – in addition to having no hidden fees, no data caps, no throttled speeds, and no residential contracts, proactive efforts are being made to ensure a future-proof network, one that is being designed and constructed to serve our communities for years to come.
