Rickey Lee McCord, age 69, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away in his home on Monday, August 14, 2023.
He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 29, 1954, to the late James Luther McCord and Frances (Harrison) McCord. Rickey was a commercial truck driver for over 40 years. He had also volunteered at the fire department for over 20 years. He was an avid hunter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances McCord; and niece, Daphne Cantrell. He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Warrick) McCord; son, Patrick McCord (Kim); daughter, Heather Hendrix (Melvin); sister, Rebecca Ellithorpe (Gerold Holley); grandchildren, Niki Hendrix (Christian), Spencer Hendrix, and Parker Hendrix; Scarlett the puppy; and many friends and extended family members.
Funeral service will be Friday, August 18, 2023, at 4pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Shane Allen officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 11am to 7pm and Friday, August 18, 2023, from 12noon until the service hour of 4pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Melvin Hendrix, Roger Chenoweth, Chris Toler, Curtis Day, Ronnie Waller, and Tommy Luker. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Overstreet, Larry Beiers, Johnny Bobbitt, and Morris Wair.
