Peggy Jean Rowland, age 92 of Adams, Tennessee, died Friday, September 18, 2020 at her residence. The family will have a private memorial service.
The family will receive friends at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View from 1:00-3:00PM Sunday, September 27th. Mrs. Rowland was born on July 8, 1928, in Bakersfield, California to the late Justin and Lena Delfino Chevalier. She had over forty years in the field of education in Kern County, California. She retired and became an entrepreneur with her husband. She then moved to Robertson County, Tennessee where her and her husband settled in to farm life. Mrs. Rowland embraced the volunteer, “spirit” by volunteering at NorthCrest Medical Center as a “Pink Lady”.
She was also a volunteer for Cedar Hill FCE, and many other agricultural organizations in Robertson County. Even in her nineties she embraced any opportunity to teach children about God through AWANA, Good News Club, and B.S.F. (Bible Study Fellowship). She attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Rowland; son, Jimmy Rowland; granddaughters Sarah Rask, and Joanna Knobloch; son-in-law, Danny Robey; and great-grandson, Caleb Johnson. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Steven) Rask, and Michelle Rowland Robey; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NorthCrest Foundation, Cedar Hill FCE Scholarship Fund, or the Robertson County 4-H.
