Nelda Boyte, age 96, passed away peacefully to be with her Big Family in Heaven on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at NHC in Bellevue, Tennessee.
Nelda was born in Cheatham County, Tennessee, one of eleven, to the late Jesse and Dola Pardue Harris.
She was a graduate of Cheatham County Central High School, Class of 1941, a member of Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church and worked for Ashland City Bank and Trust before retirement. She loved to watch basketball and especially follow her family to all of their sporting events.
Nelda will be fondly remembered for her pimento cheese and chess squares. She always took care of her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard “Gup” Boyte; brothers, Woodrow, J.C., Russell, Billy Ray and Jacky Harris; her sisters, Chloe Boyte, Sybil Sanders, June Adkins, Eugenia Batts and Becky Hartman.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sister-in-law, Frances Harris; brother-in-law, Gene Hartman; nieces and nephews, Renee (Kenny) Betts, Cheryl (Bubba) Staggs, Sammy (Jan) Adkins, Kenny (Lissa) Adkins, Sheree (Butch) Johnson, Bobby (Shelia) Harris, Pam (Greg) Meador, Jesse Wayne (Mary) Boyte, Tommy (Sharon) Boyte, Brooks (JoAnn) Harris, Jan Batts, Nila Gale Hutton, Carol Walker, and Olivia Foster; a host of great-nieces and nephews and many friends.
