Obituary: Lillard “Pete” Haskell Justice, 92


Lillard “Pete” Haskell Justice, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. Pete was born in Neptune, Tennessee, on September 20, 1928, to the late John Justice and Alzie Mae Gupton Justice.


Pete was a lifelong member of Neptune Clifton United Methodist Church, a retired bus driver after over 40 years for the Cheatham County School District and a farmer. He is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 68 years, Mildred “Moe” Smith Justice; brothers, Atlas Justice, Hoover Justice, Harvey Justice, and half-brother, Calvin “Bud” Justice; sisters, Delma Fambrough, Wilma Jean Case, and half-sister, Lorene Rich. He is survived by his son, Charlie Hunter (Valerie); grandchildren, Caroline and Caitlin Hunter; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.


Funeral service will be Friday, February 12, 2021, at 12 noon in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Reverend Penny Stratton officiating. Burial will follow in Neptune Smith Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee.


Visitation will be Thursday, February 11 from 3pm to 6pm and on Friday before the service from 10am until service hour of 12 noon. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Justice, Chris Justice, John Michael Justice, Gary Casteel, Andy Adcock and Ben Hunter. Honorary pallbearers are Jennifer Hunter, Billy Ray Hunter, Neil Owen and Keith Justice.
