Obituary: Kathy Green, 1960-2024




Kathy Green, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated elementary educator, passed away on June 27, 2024 in Pleasant View, Tennessee. She was born on August 2, 1960, to her loving parents Russell Hartman and Mary Fuhrman. Kathy was a cherished sister to Clayton Hartman, Ray Hartman, and Veronica Michael.


 In her fulfilling career at Pleasant View Elementary, Kathy spent many years mentoring numerous students with unwavering dedication and compassion. Her colleagues and students alike benefitted greatly from her approachable nature and willingness to help. Kathy was known for never meeting a stranger; she was a best friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.


Apart from her professional accomplishments, Kathy was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grammy to her family.  She also found joy in simple pleasures like gardening in the summer and enjoying taco nights. One of her proudest accomplishments was learning to speak Spanish to communicate with her coworkers, showcasing her commitment to self-improvement and cultural understanding.  


Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness in the hearts of her surviving family: her devoted husband Rick Green; caring sons Joshua Green, Justin Morgan-Green and son-in-law Adam Morgan-Green; as well as beloved granddaughter, Ava Morgan-Green. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.


A visitation will be held on July 2, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home in Gallatin, TN. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. Friends and acquaintances are invited to honor Kathy's memory at these services.


Kathy Green's warm smile and compassionate spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace knowing she made a lasting impact on all whose lives she touched.
