Joseph H. Scheffer Jr., age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
He was born on April 4, 1940, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Joseph H. Scheffer Sr. and Louise Simmons Scheffer.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Louise Pearre. Joseph is survived by his wife, Teresa (Head) Scheffer; sons, Joseph Henry Scheffer III, Charles Jeffery Scheffer (Chanda Lovell), and James Paul Scheffer; daughter, Jennifer Scheffer Cox (Joshua); and grandchildren, Charles Evan Scheffer, Jeffery Lucas Scheffer, Jaden Elijah Cox, Jacob Henry Cox, and Jordan Ryan Cox. Joseph was a member of St. Martha’s Catholic Church, a retired sheriff’s deputy for Cobb County, Georgia, and a warehouse union representative for Western Electric (AT&T).
Funeral service will be Monday, July 11, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Father Ben Butler officiating.
Burial will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 3pm to 7pm and on Monday from 10am until service hour of 1pm. A rosary service will be officiated by Father Ben Butler in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at 2pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Henry Scheffer III, Charles Jeffery Scheffer, James Paul Scheffer, Charles Evan Scheffer, Jeffery Lucas Scheffer, Jimmy Lovell, and Stan Lovell.
