Helen Jean Pope, age 91 of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville.
Mrs. Pope was born on September 18, 1930 in Crum, West Virginia to the late Denny & Mary Sammons Ratcliff. She was retired from Union Carbide after 30 years. She loved to read, sew, and was a strong- willed woman. She was also a breast cancer survivor. Mrs. Pope loved her family, especially her many grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Oaklawn Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earsel Pope; son, Tubby Pope, Jr.; daughter, Sandra Jean Hayes; grandchildren, Daniel Dearfield, Billy “Bud” Tolley, Paula Ann Loafman & Cindy Hayes; and son-in-laws, Elmo Blankenship and Ira Baisden.
Survivors include her sons, Lacie (Carol) Pope, Donald Pope, and Tony G. (Sabrina) Pope; daughters, Barbara Blankenship, Sue (Bill) Tolley, Shirley Baisden, Jackie Dearfield, and Vicki (Bub) Presley; brother, Lacie (Pat) Ratcliff; sisters, Loretta Radaweic and Kay (Charlie) Mangus; grandchildren, Tammy Hayes, Theresa Brown, P.K. Hayes, Jimmy Blankenship, Tina Blankenship, Tanya Blankenship, Johnny Blankenship, Mary Tolley, Paul Tolley, Sherri Tolley, Athena Pope, Mike Pope, Crystal Baisden, Brian Baisden, David Dearfield, Damien Dearfield, Ashley Ervin, Ryan Pope, Tony Pope, Jr., Kyle Pope, Kerri Brooks, and Brandon Presley; and 105 great & great-great grandchildren.
