Gordon Jefferson Jones, age 90 of The Villages, Florida, formerly residing in Coopertown,
Tennessee, died Thursday, December 10, 2020 while under the care of hospice.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 o’ clock AM on Saturday, January 9, 2021,
at EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee with Bro. Randy Riggs officiating.
Mr. Jones was born on January 18, 1930 in Wilson, North Carolina to the late Gordon
Bennett Jones and Nellie Jefferson Dyer. He worked as a general superintendent for many
years overseeing the building of many hospitals as well as being involved in constructing
several church buildings. He was a member of and served as a deacon at the Immanuel
Baptist Church in The Villages, Florida.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jeff Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Beverly Morrison; son, Thomas (Kay) Jones; daughter,
Monica (John) O’Neill; and grandchildren, Bennett (Jennifer) Jones, Amanda Doughty,
Anastasia O’Neill, and Victoria O’Neill.
