Obituary: Gordon “Jackie” Lee Hunter, 70


Gordon “Jackie” Lee Hunter, age 70 of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at his home.


Mr. Hunter was born on August 4th, 1950 in Ashland City, Tennessee to the late Charles Cullum and Dollie Eva Hutchinson Hunter. He was a proud United States Navy veteran and member of Ashland City Church of Christ. Mr. Hunter retired from the Materials & Tests division of the Tennessee Department of Transportation as well as Smith, Seckman, and Reid, Inc. as an engineer consultant. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Hunter, Dale Hunter, and Buford Hunter; and sisters, Fay Milam, Frances Seay, and Pauline Powers.


Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Judy Mayo Hunter; sons, Christopher Lee (Rachel) Hunter, and Shane Nicholas (Brittany) Hunter; brothers, Glendon Hunter, George Hunter, and Harvey (Connie) Hunter; sisters, Hilda (Paul) Clay, Betty Lou Batey, Cherry (Donald) Ellis; and grandchildren, Sailor Hunter, Matt Hunter, and Jamie Brom.
