Obituary: Gary Dean Hale, 76


Gary Dean Hale, age 76 of Ashland City, Tennessee, died Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at his son’s home in Pleasant View.


Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 30th with Bro.

David Royalty and Gordon Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City with John Hale, John Jacoway, Joey Jordan, Jimmy McCool, Matthew Ward, Jeff Hinkle, Roger Nesbitt, and Jamie Fearns serving as pallbearers.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 4-8PM and again on Sunday from 12:00PM until the hour of service at 2:00PM.


Mr. Hale was born on September 24, 1944 in Ashland City, Tennessee to the late Robert & Lois Choate Hale. He was retired after 40 years as a lab specialist. He loved to go boating, skiing, camping, and enjoyed woodworking. Gary loved to go watch his grandson play ball. He was a Christian.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lora Hale; son, Brian Daniels; and daughter, Joy Perry.

Survivors include his son, Robert “Dino” (Kim) Hale; daughters, Pattie (Paul) Dean and Debbie (Johnny) Schmittou; sister, Pattie Sue (Larry) Bess; grandchildren, John & Eli Hale, Heather Welch, Michael Mai, Jaima Cross, Jordan & Jon Schmittou; six great-grandchildren; nephew, Jimmy McCool; and his beloved fur baby, Toodles.
