Earl James “Jim” Sexton, Jr., age 54 of Joelton, Tennessee died Saturday, December 5, 2020 at St. Thomas West in Nashville.
Jim was born on June 10, 1966 in Cortez, Colorado to Betty Chaffin Sexton McMinnis and the late Earl Sexton, Sr.
He was a core drilling operator for S E Sexton drilling, worked for CSX Railroad and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving in the Iraq War. He served as a trustee at his church, loved hunting, camping and most of all his family. He was a member of the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a sister, Melody Sexton.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Sexton; son, Will Sexton; brother, Eddie (Stephanie) Sexton; brothers-in-law, Scotty (Myra) Chambliss and Mark Chambliss; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim’s remains will be cremated and there are no services planned at this time.
