David Preston Hildreth, age 59, of Joelton, Tennessee, died Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the home of his son, Justin Hildreth.
In accordance with his wishes, his remains will be cremated. Services will be private.
David was born on December 18, 1961 in Nashville, Tennessee. David was a second generation mechanic, a skill set taught to him diligently by his father starting from childhood -both had an excellent reputation throughout the Nashville area.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Purdy and Betty June Hildreth; half-brothers, Carroll Russell Purdy, Sammie Lyle Purdy, Lewis Glen Purdy; and sister, Bettie Purdy Luttrell.
Survivors include his wife, Christal McBay Hildreth of Dayton, Tennessee, two sons, Joshua Hildreth of Joelton, Tennessee and Justin Hildreth of Nashville, Tennessee; one daughter, Kasi Schroeder of Cookeville, Tennessee.; one sister-in-law, Maxine Purdy of Los Angeles, California; step-son, Ryan (Kristen) Montgomery of Dayton, Tennessee; grandson, Michael Miller of Nashville, Tennessee; one nephew, Bradford Blaine of Dallas, Texas.
David was an excellent photographer with a keen eye for detail. He was also a second generation gardener taught to him by his father and enjoyed working with his flower beds. David had an extensive knowledge of numismatics, collecting coins since childhood. David was reared in Old Hickory and attended Dupont High School and later studied diesel mechanics.
