Cora Lee Bateman Smith, age 96 of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Signature Healthcare.
Mrs. Smith was born on August 26, 1925 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the late Melvin & Floyd Elizabeth Herrell Bateman. She was a retired cook from the Montgomery County Nursing Home after over 31 years of service and was known as making the best chicken and dressing around. She loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren in the summer months. Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church for over 60 years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Smith; sons, Fred & Randy Smith; daughter, Betty Holzkamper; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Erica (Mike) Dorris, Angela (Barry Johnson) Smith, Alicia (Jake) Berry, Tracy Holzkamper, Brittney (David) Grose, Jessica (Jon) Magill, and Julia (Adam) Carter; great-grandchildren, Kain & Evelyn Dorris, Tyler Yadon, Alannah Cotter & JT Green, Robert Holzkamper & Dillon Broadhead, Lexi & Brooke Ebbinger, Caitlin & Camryn, and Noah & Lincoln Carter; great-great grandchildren, Damon Cotter and Ada Holzkamper; and nieces, Mattie Louise Rose, Peggy Hoskins, and Cora Bell Stanley.
