Obituary: Carl Bernard Chambliss, 88



Carl Bernard Chambliss, age 88, of Joelton, Tennessee, died Saturday, December 11, 2021 at his home.


Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o’clock a.m., Monday, December, 20th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with his family conducting the service.


Burial will follow in Joelton Hills Memory Gardens with Bro. Greg Smith officiating the committal service.


Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Kerr, Sean Moule, Brent Miller, Bryan Laurenson, Samuel Bruce, and Michael Booker. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Tabor, Randy Hasse, Ronnie Mayo, Gary Lee, Ricky Williams, Bruce Chambliss, Scotty Chambliss, Mark Chambliss, John Baynham, Thomas “T” Berry, and Bud Milliken.


The family will receive friends at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View from 12 noon-6:00PM on both Saturday, December 18th, and Sunday, December 19th, and again on Monday beginning at 9:00AM until the hour of service at 10:00AM.

Mr. Chambliss was born on September 4, 1933, in Cheatham County, Tennessee, to the late Pete & Beulah Chambliss. He was the owner of Chambliss Construction, and former owner of C & W pools. In addition to his other endeavors, he helped many people start their own businesses; and he established his companies in the community to serve and support the people. Mr. Chambliss was a co-founder of the Clarksville Highway Church of Christ.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Gloria Williams Chambliss; brothers, JW Chambliss and Marvin Chambliss; sisters, Muriel Herron and Nadene Leibfritz.


Survivors include his son, Nelson (Jamie) Chambliss; daughters, Carla (Randy) Bruce and Lesa (Mike) Mulcahy; grandchildren, Sarah (Scott) Kerr, Rebekah (Sean) Moule, Tiffany (Brent) Miller, Hannah (Bryan) Laurenson, Ashely Chambliss, Jessica Chambliss, Samuel Bruce, Michael Booker, and Elanah Bruce; step-grandchildren, Justin McCain, and Gloria (Nick) Garton; great-grandchildren, Josh Randall, Sophie, Audrey, & Eleanor Laurenson, Grayson Kerr, Daniel Moule, and Annabelle Garton.
