Obituary: Barbara Dell Moriarty Anderson, 80


Barbara Dell Moriarty Anderson, age 80 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Monday, January 11, 2021 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.


Mrs. Anderson was born on January 8, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to the late Owenby Bill and Geraldine Smith Williams and later adopted by Hank Moriarty. She was a Certified Travel Counselor, loved traveling and Tennessee Titans Football. She enjoyed crafts, especially needlepoint, crochet, knitting, and diamond dots. Mrs. Anderson was involved in several different organizations including Tennessee Sunshine Travelers Camping Club, Al Menah Motor Club, and the Order of Eastern Star in Hawaii. She was the 1st Chairman of Montgomery County Tourist Commission and served on the Planning Commission for the City of Coopertown. She was a member of Grace Bible Church.


She is survived by her husband of 50 years and 6 months, John Anderson; sons, James (Cyndie) Anderson, and Robert Anderson; daughters, Deborah Anderson, Tiffany Leedle, and Emily Anderson; brother, Bruce Moriarty; sister, Karen Williams; grandchildren, John R. Anderson, Hunter Grolman, Sydney Grolman, Joshua Anderson, Spenser Black, and Angelina Anderson; and her beloved puppy dogs, Max & Amber.
