News, Updates from the Cheatham County School District

OPEN, OUT-OF-COUNTY ENROLLMENT NOW OPEN

The Cheatham County School District is currently accepting applications for open and out-of-county enrollment for students who wish to attend our schools in the 2021-2022 school year. Open enrollment is for families who live in Cheatham County and would like for their child to attend a school other than the one they are zoned for. Out-of-county enrollment is for families who live outside of Cheatham County and would like to request that their child attend one of our schools. The Cheatham County School Board has waived the out-of-county tuition for students for the 2021-2022 school year. Additional information and the applications are available here.

STATE OFFERS TCAP FAMILY PORTAL

We want to share a valuable resource from the Tennessee Department of Education that is available to Tennessee students taking state assessments. The TCAP Family Portal is a free, online resource to help inform families of their student’s strengths and areas for growth. This resource has valuable information such as test history features allowing families to track progress over time, links to parent guides and next step recommendations, including links to practice tests. This resource is optional and printed individual student reports will still be available.

SCHOOLS ANNOUNCE GRADUATION CEREMONIES

The graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021 at Riverside Academy, Harpeth High School, Sycamore High School and Cheatham County Central High School have been announced. With safety guidelines due to COVID-19 still in place, the Cheatham County School District will need to limit the number of guests and make other modifications for the safety and health of graduates, guests and employees. Each school will communicate the guidelines and protocols with their students and families. In case of inclement weather, the schools that are planning outdoor ceremonies will move them inside.
