PLEASANT VIEW — The Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department (PVVFD) recently announced the graduation of 14 new firefighters from its 2025-1 recruit class. After five months of intensive training, the recruits have completed over 1,834 combined hours, preparing them to handle a wide range of emergency situations.
Their training covered essential skills such as firefighting, vehicle extrication, and Basic Life Support/CPR. With this rigorous preparation behind them, the new firefighters are officially ready to respond to calls across the community.
PVVFD extended a special thank you to the instructors, support staff, and leadership team whose dedication and expertise made the program possible. The department also acknowledged the support of the State of Tennessee’s Volunteer Firefighter Equipment and Training (VFEAT) program and FEMA’s SAFER grants, which provided each graduate with a custom-fitted set of personal protective equipment (PPE)—ensuring they are equipped with the highest level of protection available.
