The Cheatham County Master Gardeners have recently announced the details of their 2021 announcing their 2021 Beautification Program.
The deadline to enter is May 31.
Weather permitting, judging for the award will take place on the first Saturday in June.
What is the award?
The Cheatham County Master Gardeners, Inc. sponsor the Beautification Awards. The recognition is awarded annually, following a rigorous judging of applicants’ properties. A Beautification Award sign (see Facebook @ MGBP) will be placed on each winning property.
Who is eligible?
Any private residence, commercial, or public business property (including government buildings) within Cheatham County limits may apply. The “public” areas of apartment complexes, condominiums, townhome developments, residential subdivisions, schools, hospitals, and churches may also apply.
Anyone may submit an entry form and required fee for a property. (One entry for each property).
Awards are on a year-to-year basis. To be eligible to win each year, please apply annually.
What are the fees?
The fee for a commercial or non-commercial business category is $50.00. The fee for a single family homeowner category is $25.00. Fees are to be mailed with an application.
How do I submit an application? (Deadline May 31, 2020).
Pick up a hard copy of the application at the Cheatham County UT Extension Office located at 162 John Mayfield Drive on Ashland City.

What is the judging criteria?
Properties will be judged on: first impression, originality, distinction, design, selection and quality of plants (including trees, shrubs, flowers, grass, and ground cover), hardscape design, maintenance and litter control. Everything viewed from the curb and/or street address will be judged. The judges will also be looking for “that extra effort.”
