Local Wrestling Teams Battle in the TMSAA Middle School Duals

On December 4, 2024, Fairview Middle School hosted the Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association (TMSAA) Section 4 Middle School Wrestling Duals Tournament. The tournament was the second step in advancing to the State Duals Tournament to be held in Cleveland, TN on Friday, December 13, 2024. 


The Sectional Tournament was comprised of the top two teams from the TMSAA Area 7 and Area 8. The Area 7 Middle School Wrestling Champion was Cheatham Middle School. The Area 7 runner-up wrestling team was not determined between Sycamore Middle and East Robertson Middle schools. Sycamore came to the tournament for exhibition mat time after the first round of competition. The Area 8 Middle School Wrestling Champion was Fairview Middle School. The Area 8-runner up wrestling team was Burns Middle School. 

In the first round of the evening, Cheatham beat Burns, 48 – 38, to advance to the Section 4 Championship. With the Area 7 runner-up not determined, Fairview received a bye in the first round to advance to the Section 4 Championship match. 


Fairview Middle defeated Cheatham Middle School in the Championship match, 68-24, to become the Section 4 TMSAA Wrestling champions. Cheatham Middle School received Section 4 TMSAA Wrestling Runner-up Dual Team. 


The final tournament of the middle school wrestling season will be the Mid-Cumberland Area Conference individual Tournament on December 20, 2024, at Harpeth High School. The Area Conference tournament will include several Middle School Teams; Fairview, Harpeth, Dickson, Burns, Charlotte, Cheatham, Sycamore, Greenbrier, Coopertown, and East Robertson.
