On May 8, four members of the Cheatham County Wrestling Club competed in two state tournaments.
Adan Alvarez, Landon Morris, Daniel White, and Luke London participated in the TN USA Freestyle and Greco Wrestling state tournaments held at Summit High School in Spring Hill.
While Alvarez had a good day in freestyle, finishing 2-1 earning him a third-place finish in the 16U 132 lb division, the freestyle bracket proved to be a bit more challenging for the others. White went 0-2 in the 16U 160 lb division, London finished 2-2 in the Junior 145 lb division, and Morris finished 1-2 in the 16U 182 lb division.
In the Greco tournament, Alvarez finished 2-1 in the 16U 132 lb division to secure True second place. London finished 2-2 in the Junior 145 lb division, earning fourth place. And Morris finished 2-2 in the 16U 182 lb division, earning fourth place.
"Just as others in the practice room, these wrestlers are making such great progress in honing their wrestling skills," coaches say. "We are extremely proud of all the wrestlers for making the most of this post-season's opportunities.
