Pleasant View mayoral candidates Bill Anderson and Heather Hardwick spoke to local Girl Scouts on Tuesday, October 6.
Each candidate had the opportunity to address Pleasant View Troop 368 in a meeting designed by troop leaders to teach the girls about local and national government.
The political-themed event earned troop members, who range in age from six to 11, a democracy badge.
In addition to asking why each candidate wanted to be mayor, the girls tackled topics like parks, schools, salary, and women’s rights during the Q&A portion of the evening.
At the end of the meeting, each girl got to cast a ballot for either Anderson or Hardwick and Joe Biden or Donald Trump in a mock election.
