Local up-and-coming country singer, Austin Williams, continues on an upward trend as seen with the release of his latest masterpiece.
"Wanna Be Saved," released less than two weeks ago, has already surpassed one million streams. The song debuted in the number four spot on iTunes country charts, and in the number eight spot in the all-genre chart. On September 29, the "Wanna Be Saved" EP will be released.
"Wanna Be Saved comes from a deep spot in my life that many people can relate to," says Williams. "We all have battles we face every single day, and I wanted to let people know that they aren’t alone. There are so many people that are in your corner even though you might not see. Don’t give up, keep pushing, and keep searching for the light to bring you out of the darkness you’re in."
Williams is releasing music at a rapid pace, including original and acoustic versions of his songs and covers that have gone viral on his socials. He is also currently working with Grammy award-winning producer, Byron Gallimore.
Now back in the area after recently opening for Kidd G at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Williams is managing a packed schedule filled with new releases and performances.
Williams, 19-years old, grew up in the area of Pleasant View/Springfield. He began writing music at the age of 16, and aims to inspire others with his music.
