Friday night football resumed in Cheatham County on Sept. 10 when the Cheatham County Cubs hosted E. Robertson and Sycamore played host to Harpeth.

Prior to the Cubs game, the Cheatham class of 1971 was recognized as the first class to graduate from the new building.

Following, the audience stood for a moment of silence in memory of the tragedy of Sept.11, 20 years ago. Immediately after,13 flags were carried from the field by Cubs' cheerleaders and members of the Cheatham football team joined by members of E. Robertson.

The game that followed began slowly, but the visitor gained firm footing and pounded the home team 40-8.
