The Cheatham County School District has announced Leslie Harrison as the new principal of Sycamore Middle School. Harrison will step into the role following the departure of current principal Robyn Miller, who has been appointed Assistant Director of Schools for the district.
Originally from Jonesboro, Arkansas, Harrison brings a wealth of experience in education and administration. She is currently serving as the principal at Dickson Middle School, a position she has held since 2019. Before that, she spent five years as the school’s assistant principal and three years as athletic director.
Harrison holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Arkansas State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Her teaching journey began at Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where she taught chorus, music theory, and English I. Following a military transfer, she and her family relocated to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. There, she taught music at Clarksville Academy and later served for 16 years as a K-5 music teacher at Montgomery Central Elementary School.
"I'm so thankful for this new opportunity to be a part of the great work and tradition of Sycamore Middle School," Harrison said. "I'm looking forward to building relationships and beginning a great partnership with our staff, students and families in a community that's close to home and already feels like home."
To welcome Harrison, Sycamore Middle School will host a meet and greet for students and families on Wednesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Harrison’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Sycamore Middle School as it continues its commitment to academic excellence.
