"We had a mixed week," said Head Coach Lea Hunter. "Our play against Kenwood and Stewart County was good- we had good attitudes and we worked hard."

The tides turned on Thursday, August 17, when the Creek Wood Lady Red Hawks visited Pleasant View for an in-conference match. Rattled by "uncommon" mistakes early on, Sycamore was unable to withstand the pressure and talent put up by the visiting team. The Lady War Eagles fell in three sets: 25/13, 25/18, 25/9.

"We worked hard but we made uncommon mistakes and missed assignments, and then our attitude dropped below average," Hunter said. "We are not satisfied with how we looked and played. I am not worried, though. We'll have some bad stretches but we will keep improving as the season goes on."

On Saturday, August 19, the varsity team participated in the Middle Tennessee Christian School Volleyball Tournament in Murfreesboro. They played a total of five matches throughout the day, facing some high-level talent. Sycamore was able to secure two wins against GCA and DCA, falling to Summertown, Riverdale, and PCA.
