The Sycamore High School volleyball team began their pre-season with the McEwen Playday held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Clarksville High School.

The ladies from Pleasant View played a total of five matches over the course of the day. The varsity team faced Northeast (W), Clarksville High (L), and Rossview (L).

Head Coach Lea Hunter says, "The varsity team looked like they were comfortable with situations most of the day, only looking a little uncomfortable when they were out of system; that usually followed a poor serve receive, and we will improve on this as we move along."

The junior varsity girls took on Jo Byrns (W) and Clarksville High (L).

"JV did really well at times," Coach Hunter says. "Our system is new to most of them, but they are fast learners and we've got high hopes for them."

"I thought we had a good day Saturday," Hunter adds. "We have plenty of room to improve, but I was pleased overall."

The ladies from Pleasant View will also compete on July 30 at another playday in Watertown, and a Kill it for Cancer event set for August 6.

Regular season play will kick-off on August 16 in a home match against Stewart County; the junior varsity game begins at 5PM and the varsity game will follow directly after at 6PM.
