On Friday February, 26, the Cheatham County Lady Cubs hosted the Firebirds of Pearl Cohn for the opening round of the regional playoffs.
Both teams came out hot and ready to rumble, and at the end of the first quarter, the visitors had taken an early three-point lead. The lady Cubs were undaunted, and set a blistering pace to go to the locker room at half time leading 29-25.
When the teams returned for the third quarter, the Lady Cubs began to roar and clipped the wings of the lady Firebirds and sent them home defeated 74-38.
Three lady Cubs finished the game with double figures; Ansley Pfiffer and Macie Harter each netted 16, and Harper Dee dropped in 17.
The Lady Cubs' playoff run came to an end on March 1, when they fell to E. Nashville, 54-50.
The Sycamore Lady War Eagles traveled to Maplewood for their opening game, and were defeated 55-28.
