Last night, the Sycamore Knights football team ventured into to Bearcat territory for the last game of their season.
After a 36-14 victory over their Cheatham rivals in the Battle of the Creek, the Knights celebrated the coveted tire staying at Sycamore Middle. It was their first win of the season.
In a standout performance, eighth-grade tailback Hicks Hunter delivered the Knights four touchdowns and nearly 200 yards rushing. Wyatt Garner (8th) added to the Knights' high score with a touchdown and three two-point conversions. Fellow eighth-grader, Landen Hindman, also had an explosive 30-yard run at the start of the second half.

The 2021 SMS Knights football players are: Landon Story, Jackson Lemmonds, Ethan Smith, Kyler Perkins, Hicks Hunter, Colton Long, Wyatt Garner, Brandon Harvey, Bryan Henderson, Ray Fuller, Noah Ivey, Jacob Green, Gunner Shadowens, Ovell Arnold, Landon Hindman, and Nate Eads. The football team is coached by Dale Daniel, Jeremy Ivey, Josh Biggs, and David Casesa.
The 2021-22 SMS cheerleaders are: Piper Lynch, Hayden Wood, Carly Batson, Tessa Adams, Victoria Milner, Madie Kelly, Caleigh Key, Jazzy Nichols, Riley Osment, Avery Phillips, Emma Shearon, Kaylee Moss, Carly Lawrence, Ava Jo Kilgore, Brianna Biggs, Danielle Anderson, Katelyn Braden, Emileigh Higgins, and Meadow Wellington. The cheer team is coached by Kelly Staggs, Laura Anderson, and Jacquelyn Balthrop.
