The Cheatham County School District has named Katie Pacifici as the new Harpeth High School girls basketball coach.
Pacifici has served as the team’s assistant coach since 2018.
A 2009 graduate of Creek Wood High School, she was a member of the Lady Red Hawks basketball team for four years, earning a variety of district and region honors with a trip to the state tournaments. Pacifici went to Bethel University, where she continued her softball career.
Pacifici, who works at Harpeth Middle School, also serves as the HHS softball coach.
‘’I think the most important thing about coaching is that you have to have a sense of confidence about what you’re doing, and I believe if we can show that confidence to our student-athletes there is nothing that will get in our way. When you win you win and when you lose you learn. That is something I live by and want to incorporate this mindset with our players,” Pacifici said.
She added: “I have enjoyed working with the team over the past few years as an assistant, and I am excited to take on the challenges of leading the team as head coach. I also want to thank Cheatham County Schools for the amazing opportunity. I hope to see you all in the gym this year.”
