Editorial: Cheatham County Speaks

Cheatham County recently had an opportunity to engage with local candidates at the 2022 Candidate Meet & Greet organized by Kelly Ellis of the Livery Stables Event Hall located at 1104 Main Street in Pleasant View. Candidates from both the May 3rd Republican Primary and August County General Election were invited to introduce themselves to the community and speak about their experience, qualifications, and goals.


The Livery Stables Event Hall opened its doors to a full house on March 31.

To Register to vote in Cheatham County you must be:

  • A U.S. CITIZEN

  • A RESIDENT OF CHEATHAM COUNTY

YOU MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF A FELONY

  • (if you have been convicted of a felony and have had your rights restored according to law, you may register to vote)

  • At least 18 years old on /before next election.

Voter registration applications are available at the following locations:

  • Mail-in Application for Voter Registration

  • Election Commission Office

  • Tennessee Driver License Testing Center

  • Public Assistance Agencies

  • County Clerk's Office

  • Register of Deeds Office

  • Your local high school

  • Your local public library

About Registration Deadlines:

If a voter registration deadline falls on a Sunday (the 30th day before an election), the voter registration deadline for both in-person and by-mail applications shall be extended to the following Monday (the 29th day before an election).


Changes of Name or Address Information:


If you are a registered voter in Cheatham County and have changed your name or address, you have until five days before an election to update your registration with the election office. To change your address simply submit your old voters registration card with the new address on the back of the card. To change your name, you are required to file a new registration form to update your signature.


The office hours of the Election Commission are: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
