Coopertown Middle returned to Pleasant View on Thursday, August 11, after a weather delay/cancellation prevented the home opener from taking place on Tuesday.
The first half was a slow start for the Knights, as they went into halftime with no points on the board and the Eagles having 28. Despite coming off the half with a bit more ambition, the Eagles ultimately overpowered the Knights, taking the 42-6 victory with them back across the interstate.
On offense for the Knights, Traye Ferguson (82 yards) snagged seven touches and had the lone Knights TD thrown by Cody Scalf. Nolan McVay had four touches for 50 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, McVay led the team with six tackles; Ferguson followed closely behind with five and a forced fumble. Ray Fuller and Uriah Petty each contributed two tackles, and Tristan Franklin, Jonathan Scott, and Dagan Cardenas each had one.
The boys will get their shot at redemption tomorrow night when they will travel to Dickson to take on the Dragons at 6:30PM.
The Sycamore Middle Cheer Team also took the field for the first time that night, making their '22 cheer season debut.
