Last month, the Cheatham County Community Enhancement Coalition, in partnership with the DEA, Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, and Ashland City Police Department, hosted its annual Fall Drug Take-Back Day.

Teams were set up in Ashland City, Pleasant View, and Kingston Springs ready to take unwanted and expired medications from community members for safe disposal and provide free medication lockboxes and resources. Across these three sites in the county, more than 150 pounds of medications were collected and sent off for safe disposal.

In addition to their yearly take-back day, the Cheatham County Coalition distributes an estimated 15-20 lockboxes to the community monthly, and encourages our community members to stop by the permanent safe disposal sites located at Ashland City Police Department, Cheatham County Courthouse, and Pleasant View Police Department throughout the year.
