District Hosts Annual 'State of the District' Breakfast

The Cheatham County School District hosted its State of the District breakfast on the morning of Tuesday, January 25. 2022.


The annual event, held at Cheatham Middle School in Ashland City, had approximately 100 government, community, business and school leaders in attendance.


Over the course of the morning, Director of Schools Dr. Cathy Beck shared the district’s accomplishments, goals and challenges during her speech, and two videos were shown: one highlighting the arts in the district and one showcasing the high school auto mechanics program, which is currently being funded through an Innovative High School Models Grant.


The breakfast also featured a performance by the Sycamore High School choir, under the direction of Maggie Mason.

Four high school students, Ian Reed of Cheatham County Central High School, Averi Williams and Kyler Hartley of Harpeth High School and Ranya Moreland of Sycamore High School, spoke to the guests as well as educator Adrian Baker, the assistant principal at Sycamore High School.


This year's alumni spotlight featured Savannah Conley, a 2014 graduate of Harpeth High School and a successful singer-songwriter.
