Colby's Army Accepting Donations for Those in Need

To better serve our homeless, hungry, and in-need populations through the cold of winter, Colby's Army is accepting donations of perishable and non-perishable food; hand warmers; blankets and sleeping bags; tents and tarps; and jackets, coats, caps, socks, gloves, mittens, scarves, and other warm clothing of all sizes. Items can be well-used, but must be in serviceable condition.

Other needed items include toilet paper, fiction books, wipes and sanitizing supplies, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and large trash bags. Colby's Army cannot accept any liquids, such as mouthwash, that contain alcohol, or razor blades or pocket knives of any kind.

"This has been such an unusual year," said Lisa Wysocky, executive director of Colby's Army. "The result is we have more individuals and families in need than ever before, and we are relying on the generosity of our wonderful community to help. Sometimes it is the gift of the smallest thing, along with someone to listen, that gives the most hope for a better tomorrow."

Items can be dropped off Saturdays, from 9:30 AM-2:00 PM until December 12 at the Colby's Army Learning Center facility at 1394 George Boyd Road, Ashland City, TN 37015. Other drop off times possible by appointment by emailing info@colbysarmy.org.

To drop off, drive up to the barn and look for the donation containers at the entrance to the barn.

Colby's Army is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with life challenges through outreach, and interactions with animals and nature.
