Colby’s Army, a local nonprofit, will host its 10th Annual Yard Sale Extravaganza on Friday and Saturday, October 17–18, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Colby’s Army Learning Center, located at 1394 George Boyd Road.
The event features a large-scale yard sale, bake sale, and arts and crafts market, along with family-friendly activities such as meeting a therapy horse and exploring the facility’s trails. It is traditionally the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Held rain or shine, most of the event takes place indoors or under tents. Organizers say it may be the largest annual yard sale in Cheatham County, with over 700 attendees from seven counties in 2024.
Colby’s Army supports individuals facing life challenges through outreach and nature-based programs. Services include therapeutic riding, equine-assisted activities, organic-style gardening, a food and clothing bank, and homeless outreach.
Many locals donate items from their homes to support the sale. Donations will be accepted from September 1 through October 4. Residents can schedule a drop-off time by emailing info@colbysarmy.org or texting/calling 615-434-4111. Volunteers may be able to pick up large donations. Most gently used items are accepted, though the organization cannot take large appliances, outdated electronics, king-sized furniture, mattresses, tube TVs, printers, office furniture, encyclopedias, magazines, VHS or cassette tapes, or other overly heavy items.
“We will have an entire barn full of items—thousands of them—priced to sell,” said Executive Director Lisa Wysocky. “We always have a lot of very nice furniture, toys and baby items, holiday decorations, household goods, books, CDs and DVDs, lawn items, sports equipment, horse tack, small appliances, and much more.”
Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Interested businesses or individuals can contact the organization via email or phone.
All proceeds support Colby’s Army’s mission of helping people overcome life challenges and assisting individuals and families in need. Those unable to attend can donate online at ColbysArmy.org by clicking the yellow "Donate" button, or by mailing checks to Colby’s Army, 1394 George Boyd Road, Ashland City, TN 37015.
