Cheatham County Central senior, Macie Harter, will be playing college softball- a lifelong dream of hers.
Recently holding an official Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) signing on November 8, 2023. Harter celebrated the occasion with family, friends, coaches, teammates, and classmates.
"It has always been my dream to play D1 softball, and I am so grateful for the opportunity that MTSU has given me," says Harter, daughter of Michael and Brandy Harter. "I am thankful for coaches Teo Caymol and Mitch Rood for believing in me and helping me through the recruiting process. It is a dream come true...Go Blue Raiders!"
At the time of her graduation from CCCHS in May of 2024, Harter will have played all four years for the Lady Cubs; she currently helps lead the team as co-captain.
The speedy left-handed outfielder also plays for Georgia Impact Premier-Caymol, a national-level travel team. Harter has been ranked as a Top 100 national player by Extra Innings Softball for the Class of 2024 three years in a row; she has also been ranked a Top 25 outfielder. Additionally, Harter been awarded with Alliance Fastpitch All-Tournament honors, and has made the PGF All-American watchlist twice.
At the local level, Harter has received multiple awards to include: all-district team, all-tournament team, all-county team, District Player of the Year, and team MVP.
When she is not on the field, Harter can be found on the basketball court where she has received co-MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards.
As a Blue Raider, Harter will be studying sports administration and marketing.
